Lash & Goldberg LLP Promotes Attorneys Michael Ehren and David Ruffner to Partner

Lash & Goldberg LLP is pleased to announce that attorneys Michael L. Ehren and David R. Ruffner have been named partners of the firm. Their  practice includes complex commercial litigation, health care litigation employment litigation and class action defense.

Ehren’s recent victories include obtaining summary judgment in a multi-million dollar federal court breach of contract lawsuit on behalf of a Fortune 500 company; the defense of a publicly-traded Fortune 500 national hospital chain and a Florida hospital against a construction contractor’s multi-million dollar contract and tort claims; and representation of a professional golfer’s company against a memorabilia dealer’s tort and contract claims, which was resolved prior to trial.

In addition, Ehren serves as president of Debbie’s Dream Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness about stomach cancer, advancing funding for research, and providing education and support internationally to patients, families, and caregivers. He was recently honored by South Florida Business & Wealth with an “Up & Comer” award.  Ehren received his undergraduate degree, cum laude, from the University of Florida. He attended Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center where he was on the senior staff of the Nova Law Review and graduated magna cum laude.

Ruffner has obtained significant victories for a number of the firm’s health care clients. He has obtained dismissal with prejudice of a Medicare Secondary Payer Act claim brought against a hospital; a permanent final injunction against a physician who breached a non-compete agreement with a hospital; and defended numerous hospitals and medical practices in various employment law cases in courts and arbitration alleging discrimination, retaliation and whistleblower claims.

Ruffner is a member of the Order of the Barristers, a national honorary organization that encourages oral advocacy and brief writing skills through law school advocacy programs. He received his undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Massachusetts Boston. He earned his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Miami School of Law.
