Théo de Sá-Kaye is an associate in LashGoldberg’s Miami office where his practice focuses on complex commercial and health care litigation. Prior to joining the firm, Théo served as an assistant public defender in Florida’s Eleventh Judicial Circuit, where he tried numerous jury trials to verdict.
Théo earned his law degree cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law, where he served as a Staff Editor of the Inter-American Law Review. His student note, “Examining the Brazilian Supreme Federal Court’s Increased Powers: A Win for Democracy or a Nod to Autocracy?,” was published in the Review and received the Grey Quill Award for the most outstanding student note published that year. During law school, Théo completed judicial internships for the Honorable Adalberto Jordan of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the Honorable Edwin G. Torres of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He also served as a summer law clerk at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida and as a legal intern at the Federal Public Defender for the Southern District of Florida.
Théo received his undergraduate degree in Political Science with departmental honors from the University of California, San Diego. He is fluent in English, Portuguese, and French and proficient in Spanish.
