Laurie E. Torban, a partner at LashGoldberg, handles general commercial litigation matters including contract disputes, labor and employment, secured transactions, and commercial landlord-tenant disputes.  She has spent her entire career with the Firm.  Laurie has been recognized as a “Rising Star” by Florida Super Lawyers magazine.

Laurie has extensive experience in health care related operational and litigation matters involving managed care and third-party payer contracts, peer review and medical staff relations, and numerous other administrative and regulatory health care issues.  Laurie provides counseling and advice to hospitals and other corporate health care providers in a variety of legal and regulatory matters including risk management, licensure, governmental investigations, Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA), release of medical information, DNR and end-of-life issues, minors and mental health.  Laurie also handles real estate litigation matters, including medical office building and related commercial lease litigation.  Laurie’s practice also includes representation of nurses and other health care providers in state licensure board investigations and proceedings.

Laurie achieved honors in appellate advocacy and legal research and writing in law school.  She currently serves as a lecturer in the area of medical records law.
