Anna Lazarus is a partner in LashGoldberg’s Miami office.  Prior to joining the Firm, she worked in the Miami office of Hunton Andrews Kurth, LLP for over a decade.  

Anna has extensive experience in employment law matters, as well as commercial disputes, with an emphasis on the defense of employers against allegations of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation; violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act and Family and Medical Leave Act; and the enforcement of non-competition agreements and other restrictive covenants. She also defends businesses in public accommodations litigation.  Anna has extensive experience in both single plaintiff and complex cases, with jury trial and appellate experience, in addition to defending employers before the EEOC and comparable state and local agencies.

Chambers USA has twice recognized Anna as an Associate to Watch.  She has also been recognized by other legal organizations, such as Super Lawyers and South Florida Legal Guide.

Anna received her law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School, where she was a Chancellor’s Law Scholar and served as the Executive Articles Editor of the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law.  She received an A.B. from Amherst College in History and Spanish, magna cum laude

  • Represented large employers in in nationwide FLSA collective actions.
  • Defended numerous charges before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and comparable state agencies.
  • Defended large corporations in various race, sex, and retaliation lawsuits brought by individual or joint plaintiffs.
  • Authored successful appellate briefs, in state and federal courts, including defending defense verdict in ERISA denial of benefits case, defending defense verdict in retaliation claim against air carrier, and defending order staying action in favor of arbitration under Federal Arbitration Act.
  • Successfully represented clients in trial court and appellate court proceedings concerning insurance coverage disputes, including the number of occurrences at issue and the interplay of state sovereign immunity statute and self-insured retention.
