Discrimination Complaint against Hospital Dismissed in Protracted Dispute

Lash & Goldberg LLP defended a South Florida hospital before the Florida Human Relations Commission against a patient’s discrimination claims based on a disability. While denying that discrimination occurred, the hospital challenged the jurisdiction of the Commission to hear disability discrimination complaints against hospitals licensed in Florida under the Florida Civil Rights Act.

Noted Sportscaster Pursues Claims Against Producer of Infomercials

Lash & Goldberg LLP represented a well-known sports broadcaster in his lawsuit against a media infomercial production company.  The sportscaster sued the company in federal court for misusing his image and likeness and fraudulently inducing him to enter into an agreement through which the infomercials were produced and other claims, as well as injunctive relief. The Firm resolved the dispute through a settlement agreement whose terms are confidential.

SEC Complaint Against Top Corporate Executives Resolved Favorably

Lash & Goldberg LLP resolved proceedings brought by the Securities & Exchange Commission against the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer of a publicly traded consumer electronics retailer.  The SEC charged the officers with violation of the securities laws in connection with certain alleged financial reporting and accounting improprieties. Following a lengthy investigation, the matter was resolved favorably for the Firm’s clients.
