J.P. Shami is an associate in Lash & Goldberg LLP’s Miami office. He practices civil litigation in federal and state courts, with an emphasis on commercial litigation and health care litigation.
J.P. earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and his law degree from the University of Miami School of Law, graduating magna cum laude. He also earned his Master of Public Health from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Prior to attending law school, J.P. participated in Teach for America in the Dallas-Fort Worth region. While in law school, J.P. served as an Executive Editor for the University of Miami Law Review, participated in the Health Rights Clinic, and interned for the United States Department of Justice. He also served as the President of the Society of Bar and Gavel. In addition, during law school, J.P. served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Donald L. Graham in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and for the Honorable Adalberto Jordan in the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
