Erica Rutner is a partner in Lash & Goldberg LLP’s Miami office. Prior to joining the Firm, Erica practiced in the Miami Office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP.
Erica represents clients in a variety of high-stakes commercial litigation matters. She has handled litigations involving complex financial instruments and deal structures, business torts, products liability, health care and bankruptcy. Erica also has significant experience in the defense of class actions and multidistrict litigations, and she has successfully litigated several high-stakes putative class actions brought under the Class Action Fairness Act (CAFA). In conjunction with her class action and multidistrict litigation practice, Erica works closely with companies to develop short term and long term strategies for minimizing class action exposure.
Erica is actively involved in the legal community. She serves as a member of the editorial board of the Florida Bar Journal and as a committee member of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers Journal. She has also published articles in a variety of legal journals and reports, with a particular focus on class action jurisprudence. In addition, Erica has provided pro bono assistance in a wide range of important matters. Most recently, she assisted in preparing materials for a report on solitary confinement that was published by the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Torture.
