2/5/2009 A Roast for Chief Justice Charles T. Wells
Justin Fineberg, a partner in the firm’s Broward County office, had the privilege of clerking for Supreme Court of Florida Chief Justice Charles T. Wells.  When Justice Wells reached retirement age, a roast was organized by his former law clerks and colleagues.  The following is an excerpt from Justin’s roast of Justice Wells in Tallahassee on February 5, 2009:

“There was always one thing that I never understood.  Justice Wells drove a mini-van.  Here he was, one of the most successful litigators in the state of Florida, at the pinnacle of the profession as a Justice on the Florida Supreme Court, yet he was driving a mini-van.  Well, all I can say is: now that I have a family of my own, I finally understand.  I drive one too.”

Justin is one of several Lash & Goldberg attorneys who have clerked or interned with state or federal judges early in their careers.  Marty Goldberg clerked for Federal Judge Sidney Aronovitz, Alan Lash interned with Federal Judge Edward Davis, Lawrence Lambert interned with Judge Aronovitz, and Marla Grant interned with Federal Magistrate Judge Andrea Simonton.
